Think of a lead magnet as an "ethical bribe". You're offering something valuable in exchange for someone's email address. But here's the crucial bit - it's a transaction. Their email is valuable. That permission to keep talking to them? It's gold.

By opting in to a lead magnet a lead is raising their hand and saying “yes please, I’m interested in what you have to say”. And by doing so they are giving us permission to contact them directly in their inbox.

This is particularly important so that we aren’t at the whims of social media platforms. You account could get shut down. Reach could drop due to an algorithm change. Or the whole platform may get banned! Relying on only social platforms is like building on rented land.

The Volume Game

Here's where most people get it wrong. They spend weeks crafting the "perfect" lead magnet, launch it... and crickets. Been there, done that, got the emotional scars to prove it.

It took me a long time to swallow my pride and find a different (better!) way. I’m hoping to save you some heartache here.

I personally rotate through about 60+ lead magnets. I know right… that’s a bunch. Some days it’ll be about the RISEN™ framework. Other days it might be a template for running workshops. Or a guide to building sales funnels. Also switching in and out so there is something new in play.

Why so many? Because we genuinely don't know what will resonate until we try it. Your audience will tell you what they want - but only if you give them options to choose from.

This approach does more than just build your email list. Sure that’s a nice bonus and can drive our business. But what we’ll be doing is more sophisticated.

It's market research and product development rolled into one. Those lead magnets that consistently perform well? They're telling you exactly what your audience wants to buy.
